2008-2010 Special Interest Roster Information

Are you currently working in or have an interest in health information management in a non-traditional setting? Have you ever wondered who you could call for help? Do you know where to turn when you need information? If you answered "YES" to any of these questions, the Special Interest group will benefit you!

The Special Interest Council is comprised of a Chairman and representatives from the regional areas of the state. The purpose of the Council is to facilitate networking among HIM professionals in the State of Ohio. Guests are always welcome at these meetings as your input and willingness to share your expertise is extremely valuable.

The Special Interest Roster identifies credentialed health information management (HIM) professionals practicing non-traditional roles in a variety of health care settings. The Special Interest Roster can be used as a communication/networking tool and is also used as a reference for health care organizations by providing a list of credentialed professionals with varied expertise in health information management.

Members of the roster also receive OHCA NewsBites, a weekly electronic news brief from the Ohio Healthcare Association which provides information on numerous topics related to Long Term Care, Mental Health, Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled, etc.

Submit your Special Interest Roster application online. The cost of the roster membership is $30.00 and will extend from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2010.

You will receive an acknowledgement that your application has been received by OHIMA. Please then forward a $30 check made payable to OHIMA. Once your payment is received, your roster information will be posted and you will begin receiving the weekly OHCA NewsBites.
